Created and measured with native libjxl 0.12.0 (Homebrew 0.12.0_1 on ARM64 macOS).
These are known samples, not your files. One 1200 x 800, 8-bit sRGB illustration is not a general image-format benchmark.
The website comparisons show PNG decodes enlarged 3x, not native JXL rendering.
Pixel equality does not mean PNG file equality. JPEG byte reconstruction is a separate feature.
Do not delete originals based on this example. Verify your own archive and backups.

To regenerate: install Node, the sharp package (npm install sharp), and libjxl 0.12.0 with cjxl/djxl on PATH. Save make-proof.mjs into that folder, then run node make-proof.mjs. It writes to ./pixelkeep-output (use a new directory). The SVG uses Arial; different font or renderer versions can change rasterized source bytes. To reproduce exact conversions, use the downloaded source.png/source.jpg and the recorded commands. No codec binaries or third-party library code are redistributed.
